Studio work from tape to digital.

Mark has recorded, mixed, and mastered music continuously since the late 1970s. His recording work spans vinyl, cassette, reel to reel, CD, and modern digital formats.

From 2003, Bald Hill Music Studio operated as a full recording studio and is now focused on mixing, mastering, and archival audio work.

This body of work includes full albums, EPs, demos, live recordings, and remasters for independent artists and established acts alike.

Philosophy and Approach

Good sound starts with listening.

Mark is there to help. He looks after the acts by creating a technical environment that
allows the artist to produce their best. His sound is the sound of the act he is mixing
but larger than life, everything can heard, the vocals are clear, the song is the journey.

Beyond the Stage and Studio

Mark has been a regular contributor to Audio Technology (audiotechnology.com)
since 2007. His reviews of mixers, microphones and speakers are based on using
the gear in real-life situations.

He is also an active contributor to the Australian Road Crew Association Desk
Tape Series
, helping preserve live recordings while supporting road crew welfare.
